These Bang Bang Salmon Bites are bite-sized pieces of tender salmon, perfectly seasoned and either pan-seared, baked, or air-fried, then coated in a creamy, spicy-sweet Bang Bang sauce. They’re quick, flavorful, and ideal as an appetizer, main dish, or in salads and bowls.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Salmon Bites

  • 1 pound salmon fillets, skin removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Prep the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry and cut them into 1-inch bite-sized cubes. Place the salmon in a bowl, then add olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Toss gently to coat all pieces evenly.
  2. Cook the Salmon – Pan-Sear Option: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned salmon bites and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, turning gently, until golden and cooked through.
  3. Cook the Salmon – Bake Option: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the salmon bites on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until cooked through and slightly crisp at the edges.
  4. Cook the Salmon – Air Fry Option: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the salmon cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through, until golden and just cooked.
  5. Make the Bang Bang Sauce: While the salmon cooks, whisk together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice in a small bowl until smooth and creamy.
  6. Finish and Serve: Transfer the cooked salmon bites to a large bowl. Drizzle the Bang Bang sauce over the top or toss to coat evenly. Garnish with extra green onions, sesame seeds, or lime wedges if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust spiciness by adding more or less sriracha to the sauce.
  • Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • Try serving over rice, in wraps, or atop salads for a full meal.
  • For gluten-free, ensure the Thai sweet chili sauce is certified gluten-free.
