These BBQ Chicken Coleslaw Wraps are a delicious and easy-to-make meal perfect for lunch or a quick dinner. Tender shredded chicken coated in tangy BBQ sauce is combined with creamy ranch-dressed coleslaw, fresh diced tomatoes, and green onions, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. Optional shredded cheddar cheese adds a savory touch. Chilling the wraps before serving allows the flavors to meld beautifully, making this a flavorful and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Mixture

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce

Coleslaw Mixture

  • 2 cups coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing

Wrap Assembly

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare BBQ Chicken: In a medium bowl, combine the shredded cooked chicken with the BBQ sauce. Mix thoroughly until the chicken pieces are evenly coated with the sauce.
  2. Make Coleslaw Mixture: In a separate bowl, toss the coleslaw mix with ranch dressing until all the cabbage and carrots are well coated and creamy.
  3. Assemble Wraps: Lay one flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon about 1/2 cup of the BBQ chicken mixture onto the center of the tortilla.
  4. Add Toppings: Layer a generous amount of the ranch-dressed coleslaw over the chicken, then sprinkle with diced tomatoes and chopped green onions. If desired, add shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  5. Roll Wraps: Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll the wrap tightly from the bottom up to enclose the fillings completely. Repeat this process with the remaining tortillas and filling ingredients.
  6. Chill and Serve: For best results, wrap each assembled wrap in aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to blend together. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • You can substitute flour tortillas with whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas as per preference.
  • Using freshly cooked chicken or leftover rotisserie chicken works well.
  • Add avocado slices for an extra creamy texture.
  • For a spicier kick, mix in some chopped jalapeños or hot sauce.
  • The wraps can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
