Ingredients

Scale

Main ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground pork

Seasonings:

  • 2-inch piece of fresh ginger, minced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon Chinese five-spice
  • ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons chili paste

Additional:

  • 16 ounces coleslaw mix (preferably with thinly sliced carrots)
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Cooked rice (for serving)
  • Thinly sliced green onions (for topping)
  • Wonton strips (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pork: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the pork, ginger, and garlic until pork is cooked through. Drain any excess liquids.
  2. Add seasonings: Sprinkle with cornstarch and Chinese five-spice. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and chili paste. Cook until sauce forms, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add cabbage: Add coleslaw mix to the skillet, toss to combine, and cover with a lid for 2-3 minutes until the cabbage is slightly wilted. Season with salt, if needed.
  4. Serve: Serve the stir fry over cooked rice. Top with green onions and wonton strips. Enjoy!
