Hamburger Steaks

  • 1.3 pounds ground beef
  • 4 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 yellow onion, grated
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 egg

Creamy Dill Sauce

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp chopped dill, more for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare Hamburger Steaks: Grate onion into a bowl, add ground beef, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, cream, and egg. Mix, shape into 4 portions, flatten, and set aside.
  2. Make Creamy Dill Sauce: Chop onion, garlic, and dill. Sauté onion and garlic. Add salt, pepper, flour, broth, cream, and dill. Simmer until thickened.
  3. Cook Hamburger Steaks: Brown steaks, remove. Cook onion and garlic, add flour, broth, cream, dill. Simmer, return steaks, cook through. Serve topped with dill and pepper.
