  • 2 fresh eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour (8.8 oz)
  • 4 tsp baking powder

For the Topping:

  • 1/4 cup butter (50g)
  • 1/4 cup caster sugar (50g)

Instructions

  1. Cut the apples into large chunks. Mix them with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Prepare the cake mix: Cream room temperature butter with sugar, then add eggs one at a time.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour and baking powder, then add to the cake batter.
  4. Prepare the topping: Melt butter and sugar, then pour over the apples.
  5. Making the cake: Spread the cake mix in a prepared tin, top with apples, then pour over the topping.
  6. Baking: Bake at 355°F (180°C) for 1 hour.
  7. Resting: Let the cake cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
