For the Chicken Patties:
2 frozen breaded chicken patties (such as Tyson®)
For the Grilled Cheese:
2 tablespoons garlic butter, or to taste
4 slices Italian bread
1 cup marinara sauce
0.5 teaspoon dried basil, or to taste
1 pinch garlic salt, or to taste
6 thin slices provolone cheese
2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Preheat and Cook the Chicken: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Place chicken patties on a baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes until cooked through and crispy. Cut the chicken patties in half lengthwise.
Prepare the Grilled Cheese: Spread garlic butter on one side of each bread slice. Mix marinara sauce, basil, and garlic salt in a microwave-safe bowl and heat until warmed. Place a bread slice, butter-side down, into a skillet and layer with provolone cheese, marinara sauce, chicken patty halves, more marinara sauce, provolone cheese, and another bread slice on top. Cook until crispy and cheese is melted, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Repeat for remaining sandwiches.
Serve: Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the remaining marinara sauce and serve alongside each sandwich.
