These Marinated Grilled Hot Dogs are a flavorful twist on a classic favorite. The hot dogs are marinated in a savory-sweet sauce and grilled to perfection, resulting in a delicious combination of smoky, charred flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Marinade:

  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp mustard
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

Hot Dogs:

  • 8 hot dogs
  • 8 hot dog buns

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Hot Dogs: Using a small, sharp knife, make angled cuts in 2 rows down each hot dog, about 1/2 inch apart, cutting partway into the hot dog to create rounded half circles.
  2. Marinate the Hot Dogs: In a bowl, mix the chili sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour the marinade into a large ziplock bag, add the hot dogs, and marinate for 15-20 minutes or overnight.
  3. Grill the Hot Dogs: Preheat the grill. Grill the marinated hot dogs until charred and the cuts open up, about 4-5 minutes in total.
