  • Water, vegetable oil, and egg as called for on brownie mix box
  • 2/3 cup mint-flavored chocolate chips

Frosting

  • 1 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • 1/4 teaspoon mint extract
  • Betty Crocker™ green gel food color, if desired

Glaze

  • 1/3 cup mint-flavored chocolate chips
  • 4 teaspoons butter
  • 4 teaspoons corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon hot water

Instructions

  1. Prepare Brownie Batter: Preheat the oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Grease the bottom of a 9-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray. Prepare the brownie batter according to the instructions on the box, mixing in 2/3 cup of mint-flavored chocolate chips. Pour and spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  2. Bake Brownies: Bake the brownies for 28 to 31 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side of the pan comes out almost clean. Remove from the oven and cool completely on a cooling rack, approximately 1 1/2 hours.
  3. Make and Spread Frosting: In a small bowl, combine the vanilla frosting with 1/4 teaspoon mint extract and, if desired, a few drops of green gel food coloring. Stir thoroughly with a spoon until well blended. Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled brownies.
  4. Prepare Glaze: In a 1-quart saucepan, gently heat the glaze ingredients — mint-flavored chocolate chips, butter, and corn syrup — over low heat, stirring occasionally until melted completely. Gradually stir in up to 1 teaspoon of hot water, a little at a time, until the glaze reaches a thin, drizzle-able consistency.
  5. Drizzle Glaze and Chill: Drizzle the prepared glaze over the frosted brownies. Refrigerate the brownies for about 30 minutes or until the glaze is firm.
  6. Serve: Once set, cut the brownies into 16 equal pieces by slicing into 4 rows by 4 rows. Enjoy your refreshingly minty chocolate treat!
