Cake Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Glaze Ingredients

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 10–12 cup Bundt pan thoroughly to ensure the cake doesn’t stick.
  2. Mix Cake Batter: In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, vegetable oil, pineapple juice, eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix these ingredients until the batter is smooth and well incorporated.
  3. Bake the Cake: Pour the prepared batter into the greased Bundt pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Prepare the Glaze: While the cake is baking, heat the powdered sugar, pineapple juice, and unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and the butter is fully melted. Remove from heat.
  5. Apply the Glaze: Once the cake is done, immediately poke holes all over the hot cake using a skewer or fork. Slowly pour the warm glaze evenly over the top of the cake while it is still in the pan, allowing the liquid to soak into the holes.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let the cake sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the glaze. Then invert the Bundt pan to release the cake and allow it to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the Bundt pan is well greased and floured to prevent sticking.
  • The holes poked after baking help the glaze soak deeply into the cake for extra moisture and flavor.
  • Letting the cake cool fully before slicing gives the glaze time to set nicely.
  • You can substitute pineapple juice with fresh juice for a more intense flavor.
  • Store leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
