  • 1 teaspoon ground sumac
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic (or garlic powder)
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Generous pinch ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, divided

Lemon Tahini Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons water, or as needed for consistency
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • Generous pinch fine sea salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Chicken: Place chicken in the slow cooker with water and cook on high for 2 hours until done.
  2. Slice the Chicken: Slice the cooked chicken breasts against the grain.
  3. Prepare the Spice Mix: Combine all spice mix ingredients in a bowl.
  4. Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a pan, add chicken, sprinkle with spices, and allow to crisp.
  5. Make the Lemon Tahini Sauce: Blend all sauce ingredients until smooth.
