Ingredients

Scale

Beef Marinade

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

Other Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 8 ounces egg noodles (or other noodles of choice)
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup snap peas or green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: In a small bowl, toss the sliced flank steak with 2 tablespoons soy sauce and 1 tablespoon cornstarch until evenly coated. Let it marinate for 10-15 minutes to tenderize and infuse flavor.
  2. Make the Sauce: In another bowl, whisk together 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 2 teaspoons sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Noodles: Prepare the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain well and set aside to keep warm.
  4. Stir-Fry the Beef and Vegetables: Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and nearly cooked through.
  5. Add Vegetables: Add thinly sliced bell pepper, onion, and snap peas to the skillet. Continue stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp but still vibrant and slightly crunchy.
  6. Combine and Serve: Add the cooked noodles and prepared sauce to the skillet. Toss everything together thoroughly, ensuring noodles are evenly coated and heated through.
  7. Garnish: Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving to add flavor and visual appeal.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add chopped chili or chili flakes to the sauce.
  • You can substitute flank steak with sirloin or skirt steak for similar results.
  • Use gluten-free soy sauce to make the dish gluten-free.
  • Feel free to swap egg noodles with rice noodles or udon for variation.
  • Sesame seeds are optional but add a nice crunch and nutty flavor.
  • Prepare vegetables in advance for a faster cooking process.
