These Strawberry Shortcake Oreo Balls are a delightful no-bake treat combining the crunch of Golden Oreos with freeze-dried strawberries and creamy cream cheese, all coated in smooth white chocolate and decorative crumbs for a fun, flavorful bite-sized dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Oreo Balls

  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Golden Oreos
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • ½ cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Coating

  • 12 oz white chocolate melting wafers or white candy coating
  • ½ cup crushed freeze-dried strawberries (for coating)
  • ½ cup crushed Golden Oreos (for coating)

Optional Toppings

  • Drizzle of melted pink or red candy melts
  • Fresh strawberry pieces for decoration
  • Sprinkles (optional for festive occasions)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cookie Base: Begin by placing the Golden Oreos in a food processor. Pulse until they turn into fine crumbs. Reserve about ½ cup of crumbs for coating later, then transfer the remaining crumbs into a large mixing bowl. Add the softened cream cheese, vanilla extract, and crushed freeze-dried strawberries. Mix everything until a smooth and uniform dough forms. You can use a hand mixer or a spoon, but for best results, mix with your hands to fully incorporate the cream cheese.
  2. Form the Balls: Using a small cookie scoop or tablespoon, portion out the mixture and roll into 1-inch balls. Place each ball on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Once all the balls are formed, freeze them for about 25–30 minutes to firm up.
  3. Prepare the Coating: While the Oreo balls are chilling, melt your white chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth and fully melted. Combine the reserved Oreo crumbs and crushed freeze-dried strawberries in a shallow bowl. This will be your coating mixture.
  4. Dip and Coat: Remove the chilled balls from the freezer. Using a fork or toothpick, dip each ball into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it’s completely coated. Let excess chocolate drip off, then immediately roll the ball in the Oreo-strawberry crumb mixture for that signature shortcake texture. Place each coated ball back on the parchment-lined tray.
  5. Set and Serve: Once all the Oreo balls are coated, refrigerate them for at least 1 hour to let the chocolate set. Serve chilled or at room temperature. Optionally decorate with melted candy melts drizzle, fresh strawberry pieces, or sprinkles for festive occasions.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing and smoother dough.
  • Freeze-dried strawberries add intense flavor without moisture; regular dried strawberries will not work as well.
  • To avoid cracking, do not overheat white chocolate; melt it slowly in short intervals.
  • These Oreo balls can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Freezing the balls before coating helps maintain firm shape and makes dipping easier.
