Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 10 ounces unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 ⅓ cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (at room temperature)
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Set this mixture aside.
  3. Cream the Butter and Sugars: In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the room temperature butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar on medium speed for about 2 minutes until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  4. Add the Wet Ingredients: Add the vanilla extract and beat until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Finally, mix in the milk until fully incorporated.
  5. Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: On low speed, gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, beating just until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Shape the Dough: Drop tablespoon-sized balls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, making sure to leave about 2 inches between each cookie to allow for spreading.
  7. Bake the Cookies: Bake the cookies one tray at a time for 10 to 11 minutes, rotating the baking sheet halfway through baking for even cooking. The cookies should be golden brown and crispy around the edges.
  8. Cool the Cookies: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 15 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack using a thin spatula to cool completely.
