Chocolate Salami is a no-bake dessert that mimics the look of a traditional salami sausage using crushed biscuits, rich cocoa powder, butter, dulce de leche, and pecans. This easy-to-make treat combines crunchy textures with smooth, creamy chocolatey flavors, perfect for a unique dessert or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb biscuit cookies
  • 1/2 cup cacao powder
  • 200 g unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 1/3 cup dulce de leche
  • 1 cup pecans

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Gather and prepare all of your ingredients. Ensure that the unsalted butter is at room temperature to make mixing easier.
  2. Break Cookies: Break the biscuit cookies into smaller pieces to facilitate the chopping process.
  3. Pulse Cookies and Cocoa: Using a blender or food processor, roughly chop the biscuit cookies into small pieces, leaving some chunks for texture. Add the cacao powder and pulse a few more times to combine evenly with the cookie pieces.
  4. Mix Wet Ingredients: Add the room temperature butter, dulce de leche, and condensed milk to the mixture in the blender or food processor. Blend or mix thoroughly to incorporate everything evenly.
  5. Add Pecans: Break the pecans into smaller chunks and stir them into the chocolate mixture gently to maintain texture.
  6. Shape the Salami: Scoop approximately one cup of the mixture onto a piece of prepared plastic wrap or parchment paper. Shape the mixture into a tight log and wrap it securely.
  7. Chill and Harden: Refrigerate the wrapped logs for a few hours or freeze until the mixture hardens and becomes firm enough to slice.
  8. Serve: Once firm, remove the chocolate salami from the wrap and dust with powdered sugar before slicing for that classic salami effect and extra sweetness.

Notes

  • Use room temperature butter to ensure a smooth and creamy mixture.
  • Do not over-process the biscuits; some chunkiness adds to the texture.
  • If dulce de leche is not available, caramel sauce can be a substitute, but the flavor will slightly differ.
  • Store any leftovers wrapped and refrigerated; consume within a week for best freshness.
  • Dusting with powdered sugar is optional but adds to the authentic salami look.
